                       Island peak 6179m is one of the most famous trekking peak in Everest region. This trekking peak was named "Island Peak" in 1952 AD due to its prominent location in the middle of the Chhukung valley, like an Island on a sea of ice. Island peak was named by Eric Shipton in 1952 and the first ascent was made by members of the 1953 British Everest team as a training climb. The climbing is challenging for the beginning alpine climber and the summit ridge provides one of the most dramatic view in the mornings that a Himalayan climber could dream of. The summit of Island Peak stands nearby to the South Face of Lhotse, one of the world’s largest ice walls, and offers stunning views of beautiful Ama Dablam and Makalu. No technical mountaineering experience is necessary to climb Island Peak, simply a high level of fitness and the desire to push your limits.
                       The famous island peak climbing takes you into the heart of the Khumbu, and Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft). A short half hour flight will be undertaken from Kathmandu to Lukla Airport after two days rock climbing in Kathmandu. Start your trek through the Solu Khumbu, capital of Sherpa. A full day rest will follow at the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar. On that day, a hike for acclimatization is possible to Thame and back. You will continue trek to Everest base camp kala pattar and ascending the glacial valley and continuing up to reach Gorak Shep. You will hike to Kala Pattar (5,545m /18,190ft), a shelf at the foot of Mt. Pumori, is well rewarded with the entire view of the south face of Mt. Everest. After visiting the Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft) trail descends to Chhukung. After a day of walking from Chhukung you will reach the Base Camp to prepare for your attempt at the peak. It may take an additional day or two to scale the peak depending on weather conditions. You will endeavor the summit (6,189m/20,305ft) after one night at the High Camp perched on the South West Ridge where magnificent vistas of the Khumbu can be seen from the top. Island Peak is easy and common so most of the visitor from the world is willing to go there. The journey came to conclusion at Lukla airstrip from where you will fly back to Kathmandu in the morning.
Island Peak Climbing Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will transfer to hotel , Island peak climbing / Imja Tse peak climbing briefing with officially arrangements. overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2830m)and trek to Phakding (2630m)
Day 03: Terk to Namche Bazaar(3340)
Day 04: Namche Bazaar acclimatization day. (During the day , you can hike to Thame for beautiful Himalayan views, wild animals and Tibetan Monastery or hike to Everest view hotel for superb views of Mt. Everest(8848m) , Mt.Lhotse, (8516n) Mt. Nuptse, (7855m), Mt.Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Thamserku (6723m), Mt. Kantega (6979m), Mt. Kusum Khangaru (6367m), Mt.Kongde (6011m), Mt. Tawache peak (6367 m), Mt. Cholaste (6335m), island peak (6179m), Khumbila (God of Khumbu) 5761m etc , overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar trek to Phortse village (3890m).
Day 06: Phortse village trek to Pheriche (4250mm).
Day 07: Pheriche trek to Lobuche (4900m).
Day 08: Lobuche trek to Gorak shep(5180m),Lunch at Gorakshep than Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition's trekking guide will take to you Everest base camp 5400m, after khumbu Ice fall and Khumbu glaciers view back to Gorakshep overnight at Gorakshep.

Day 11: Chhukung trek to Island Peak Base Camp(4967m) HJT climbing guide will teach you how to fixed the rope , some climbing tipps than make trainning near by island peak base camp. overnight at island peak base camp.
Day 12: Next morning , our climbing guide will take to you, slowly climbing to the camp first on Island Peak. You have all day to reach that intermediate camp. Do not expect the luxury of the base camp, but rather expect a sleepless night dreaming of your first 6,179 m peak. overland isaland peak high camp 5600m.
Day 13: Early morning, start going to the top. After camp 1, go up in the gully, traverse to the right, up on a wide stone field, cross the ridge to the glacier. Always beware of the crevasses. You are nearly halfway. Have a good trip to the top and safely down. The same day back to Chukung.
Day 14: Chhukung trek to Tyangboche (3890m)
Day 15: Tyangboche trek to Namche bazaar.
Day 16: Namche bazaar trek to Lukla.
Day 17: Lukla by flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.
Day 18: After breakfast, our tour guide will take to for historical monuments sightseing in kathmandu valley such as Bhaktapur, Pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, Kathmandu durbar square and Monkey temple(swyambhunath) and in the evening farewell dinner in Restaurant, overnight at Kathmandu in Hotel.
Day 19: BAfter breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities ,Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition’s representative will drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward destination.
