Glimpse of Bhutan tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Paro international airport- Thimpu
-Lunch in Thimphu. Afternoon:
- Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King - the father of modern day Bhutan. - Changangkha Lhakhang (temple), built in the 14th century and the oldest in the Thimphu valley. - Takin's mini Zoo, national animal of Bhutan. It is said that the animal was made by Drukpa inley with the head of a goat and the body of a cow thus making Takin the one of a kind animal it is! - Zilukha Nunnery. Evening:
Tashi Chhodzong (Fortress), after 16:30 hrs. Overnight: Thimphu | Altitude: 2300m.

Day 02: Thimphu- Punakha (2-hour drive)
Morning:
-School of Arts & Crafts, where students learn 13 different arts that are in use in Bhutan. As you will discover, to the Bhutanese, Arts is a way of life and can be seen everywhere! - Folk Heritage Museum - Handicraft emporium where you will find authentic sculptures, art works and clothes made by Bhutanese craftspeople. Afternoon:
- Drive to Punakha over Dochula pass at 3150m. From the pass, weather permitting, we will be able to see the entire Bhutanese Himalayan mountain range - a truly spectacular view! Evening: Punakha Dzong and Souvenir making center. Overnight: Punakha | Altitude: 1350m.
Day 03: Punakha – Paro (3 ½ Hrs)
Morning:
-Hike to Chhimi Lhakhang (temple) - a beautiful, flat hike through rice paddies and vegetable fields. -Drive back to Paro. Afternoon:
-National Museum in Paro -- first of its kind. It has a collection from Natural History to Religious Paintings and is and provides a very good overview of the country. -Visit the 17th century Paro's Rinpung Dzong (Fortress) to see how all affairs - administrative, religious and cultural are conducted from these majestic structures. Evening:
Leisure. Overnight: Paro | Altitude: 2200m
Day 04: Paro sightseeing tour
Morning:
* Hike to the majestic Tiger's Nest Temple - the most revered temple in the country - perched superbly at the edge of a cliff overlooking Paro Valley! Afternoon:
* Visit Kichu Lhakang (Temple), one of the two oldest temples in the country. * Visit the ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress). On a clear day one can see the majestic peak of Jumolhari mountain from the Dzong. Paro | Altitude: 2200 m
Day 05: Depart Paro
