Makalu Trekking

                        Makalu trekking is one of the remote and unfrequented trekking trail in Nepal. Makalu region is the place of Makalu Barun National Park which was established in 1992 as Nepal's eighth national park. Makalu trekking region lies in eastern part of Nepal and Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project covers 2330 sq km. Makalu base camp trekking offers superb Himalayan scenery including the Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Lhotse 8516m, Mount Makalu 8463m, Nuptse 7855m, peak 38. Annapurna Himalaya range etc and enjoy with different culture as such as Limbu, Rai, Newar, Brmain, Chhetri, Tibetan shrepa. For the Makalu base camp / around Makalu trekking need special trekking permit through Nepal Government registered trekking company. Mount Makalu 8463m is the fifth highest mountain in the world. Makalu trekking /Makalu circuit trekking begins from 850m to till 5400m above the sea level. Makalu base camp trekking is formerly a restricted trekking area, it spans five major ecological zones where can be found the lush, tropical Arun Valley, dense forests or rhododendron and fir and alpine meadows that lead to the might Barun glacier. The majority of the Maklau base camp route lies inside Makalu-Barun national park, famous for a beautiful and variant array of flora and fauna. Around Makalu trekking is an extremely isolated trekking area in Nepal.

                        The Makalu-Barun area is little known to most tourists due to its relative inaccessibility. But those few hundred trekkers and mountaineers who visit each year come away with an unforgettable experience in makalu trekking region. For the naturalist, there are spectacular displays of wildflowers and exotic plants. More than 3000 species of flowering plants, with hundreds of orchid varieties, 48. Primroses and 25 of Nepal's 30 rhododendrons splash the hillsides with color. The forests shelter abundant wildlife, including the endangered red panda and musk deer as well as the ghoral, Himalayan thar and leopard.

                        Ornithologists have identified 400 bird species, at least 16 of which are extremely rare. Most trekkers and mountaineers visit the Makalu-Barun area during October-November and March-April when high passes are less likely to be snowed over. Lower elevations are temperate throughout winter, and hot during April and May. Heavy monsoon rains occur throughout the region from June through September, with occasional showers during April-May. For the hardy botanist, the monsoon season is bursting with life, including the pasty leech. As the Makalu trekking is designed for camping arrangement, everything is handled by Apex Nepal Adventure’s team of trekking guide, trekking porters, sherpas and cooks who carry the equipment, assemble and dissemble the camp and have hot meals waiting for you at every food break. Makalu trekking begins from the small hill town of Hile, accessible by road or air, or through Tumblingtar, the district headquarters of Sunkhwasabha.

Makalu Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu 1334m, transfer to hotel, Upper dolpo trekking briefing with officially briefing. Overnight at kathmandu
Day 02: After breakfast, our tour guide will take to you for historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley such as Bhkatapur, pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, kathmandu durbar square & Swaymbhunath(monkey temple) and prepare for the Makalu trekking because this day is required to make Makalu trekking permit with original passport. Overnight at kathmandu .
Day 03: Kathmandu fly to Tumlingtar
Day 04: Tumlingtar trek to Mane Bhanjayang
Day 05: Mane Bhanjayang trek to Chichila
Day 06: Chichila trek to Num
Day 07: Num trek to Sheduwa
Day 08: Sheduwa trek to Tashigaon
Day 09: Tashigaon trek to Khongma
Day 10: Khongma trek to Dobate
Day 11: Dobate trek to Yangle Kharka
Day 12: Yangle Kharka trek to Jar Kharka
Day 13: Jar Kharka- Rest day
Day 14: Jar Kharka trek to Base camp (5000m)
Day 15: Base camp trek to Yangle Kharka
Day 16: Yangle Kharka trek to Thulo pokhari
Day 17: Thulo pokhari trek to Tashi Gaon
Day 18: Tashi Gaon trek to Num
Day 19: Num trek to Bhote bas

Day 22: After breakfast,Relaxing or shopping with own activities than in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese Restaurant, overnight at kathmandu in Hotel BB
Day 23: After breakfast, relaxing or shopping with own activities than drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward destination.
