Tibet overland Tour (Fly In Drive out) Tour itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, Apex Nepal Adventure Treks & Expedition airport representative will transfer to hotel, Tibet overland tour briefing with officially arrangements .overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 02: After breakfast , HJT representative will take your original passport for issue the Tibet Visa at Chinese Embassy Kathmandu and our tour guide will take to you historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley including Pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, Kathmandu Dubar square , Sywambhunath ( Monkey temple) and prepare for Tibet tour. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 03: After breakfast , HJT airport representative will drop to you Kathmandu international airport for Lhasa flight. Flight from Kathmandu will take you over the Himalayas to Lhasa, the exciting capital of Tibet. You will be met at the airport by a representative in Lhasa and transferred to your hotel
Day04: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street
The first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa's cardinal landmark- PotalaPalace, a structure of massive portions. Its towering image already appearing on various occasions, but your first sight of the Potala will still be an awe-inspiring moment. It takes at least a good 2-hour to visit those rooms, halls and chapels
In the afternoon, we will drop a visit of the JokhangTemple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple. The temple is the product of Han, Tibetan and Nepalese architectural techniques. Then we will visit Barkhor, the oldest street in a very traditional city in Tibet
Day 05: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastey
About 8 km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung, once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. This day's sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains.
Drepung is one of Lhasa's two great Gelugpa monasteries, the other is Sera. Around 5km north of central Lhasa, Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' in Sera is very famous.
Day 06: Lhasa-Gyantse
Today you will drive about 300KM to Gyangtse. Take a look at YamzhogYumco Lake on the way and overlook Kalais Kora Glacier. YamdrokLake is a coiling, many-armed body of water shaped like a scorpion. It doubles back on itself on the western side, effectively creating a large island within its reaches. For Tibetans, it is one of the four holy lakes of Tibet. And the home of wrathful deities. The lake lies several hundred metres below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m).
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Gyangtse and go for the tour of Palkhor Temple, built in the 15th century, is situated in the west of GyantseTown with mountains enclosing form three sides of the east, west and north. Its uniqueness is that its three sects of Buddism-Shaja, Ningma and Guolu stayed harmoniously under one roof.
Day 07: Gyantse-Shigatse
Drive about 90KM to Shigatse which is the second largest city in Tibet. It’s also the home town of Banchen Lama. In the afternoon, you will drop a visit of Tashilumpo monastery. Tashilumpo, sprawls on the slops of Mt.Niser, southwest of Shigatse. It covers an area of about 300,000 square meters. There are many valuable and rare historical articles in the monaster
En route, visit Shalu monastery, which the construction was started in 1027. Its architecture is of typical combination of the Tibetan and Chinese styles with archways, carved pillars, tilled roofs and the Song and Yuan style murals.
Day 08: Shigatse-Shegar
Today we drive to Shegar and overnight here. En route visit Sakya monastery, which is divided into the south and north two parts. It is of typical Yuan Dynasty style of resembling castles. There are a lot of historical articles in the monastery, among them are found a lot of the imperial certificates, gold signets, crowns, costumes bestowed by the Yuan Dynasty emperors. It has over 10,000 volumes of Tibetan books on astronomy, medicine, calligraphy, and history. So the Sakya monastery enjoys the title ‘the second DunHuangCave.’
Day 09: Shegar-Rongbuk Monastery-Mt.Everest
Although it's just 100km from Shegar to Base Camp(5200m), it takes about 4 hours since the cracked winding roads demand much caution. But the views are stupendous on a clear day, and feature a huge sweep of the Himalaya range including peaks over 8000, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Gyachung and Cho Oyu. When you finally get to Base Camp, the first sight of the mighty Everestsimply leaves you speechless. All the hardship you bear along the way makes sense at this while.
The best moments to watchMt. Everest's are early morning and late evening when Everest is shining like a goddess in the sunglow.
Day 10: Mt. Everest-Tingri-Zhangmu
Take about 5 hours on bumpy road to Tingri, then may forward another 5 hours to Zhangmu. Zhangmu town is located in the border with Nepal is a very different place from the other ones you see on the way. All year round it is green with rains most of the time. You will think it is out of Tibet if not mentioning you but you’re behind China Customs, as there are Sherpa people and Nepalese speaking a different language here.
Day 11: Zhangmu-Kathmandu
Drive to FriendshipBridge at the border, our tour guide will see you off here, and you need cross the border by yourself. And you can take a minibus, taxi or ask us for arranging border transfer for you. Tour ends.
Day 12: Apex Nepal Adventure airport drop to Gongar airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 13: After breakfast,
relaxing or shopping or join for other adventures activities program in Nepal if not Apex Nepal Adventure drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward journey.


Option II Tibet overland tour Drive in fly out tour itinerary

Day 03: Kathmandu (1300) /Zhangmu (2,500m)/Nyalam (3700m): 123 KM/ 156KM
Early morning pick up from the Hotel in kathmandu, scenic drive to Kodari (Nepal /Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, our Nepalese representative (guide) will handover the clients to Tibetan Guide & transportation, (Nepalese guide & vehicle will return from the boarder) an hour adventures uphill drive by truck (normally) or 2 hour walk uphill (incase of landslide) to Chinese immigration. Continue drive to Nyalam. Overnight at Hotel. (Dormitory room).
Day 04: Nyalam /Tingri (4300M) / Lhatse (4350M): 225Km /244Km
Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over LALUNGLA (5,050M), from where, weather permitting breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt. CHO OYU (8201M) & MT XISHAPAGMA (8012M) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. From Tingri one can enjoy the magnificence of MT. EVEREST (8,848M). Overnight at Hotel.  Day 05: LHATSE /XIGATSE (3900M): 244KM
continue scenic drive crossing over GYATCHULA (5,220M), the highest pass en route to LHASA via LHATSE from where the road to MT. KAILASH bifurcates to the west. Overnight at Hotel Utse (3*** hotel) ( (Twin sharing room))
Day 06: XIGATSE /GYANTSE (3,900M): 90KM
Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama’s TASHILHMPU Monastery. Drive to Gyantse and visit to the KUMBUM Stupa & PHALKOR Monastery. Overnight at Hotel Utse (3***). (Twin sharing room)).
Day 07: GYANTSE /LHASA (3,650M): 261KM
Full day picturesque drive crossing over KAROLA (5,010m), KAMBALA (4,794M), colorful YAMDROK LAKE and the Tibetan lifeline river BRAMA PUTRA (YARLUNG TSANGPO). Overnight at Hotel Shambala or Dhood Gu Hotel (3*** Hotel) (Twin sharing room).
Day 08-09: In LHASA
Two full days sightseeing tour in LHASA including JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAAR, POTALA PALACE, DREPUNG & SERA MONASTRIES. Overnight at Hotel Shambala or Dhood Gu Hotel (3*** Hotel) (Twin sharing room).
Day 10: LHASA /KATHMANDU
Early morning drive to Gongar airport for departure flight to Kathmandu.
Day 11: Apex Nepal Adventure airport drop to Gongar airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 12: After breakfast, relaxing or shopping or join for other adventures activities program in Nepal if not Apex Nepal Adventure drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward journey.


Option III Tibet overland tour itinerary (drive in Drive out tour)

Day 02: After breakfast , HJT representative will take your original passport for issue the Tibet Visa at Chinese Embassy Kathmandu and our tour guide will take to you historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley including Pasupatinath, Boudhhanath, Kathmandu Dubar square , Sywambhunath ( Monkey temple) and prepare for Tibet tour. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu/Nyalam (3750 m).
 An early start for approx. 6 hrs drive to Kodari, friendship bridge (Nepal/Tibet border). On clear mornings some great views of Mt. Langtang, Mt. Gaurishankar, Mt. MeLungtse and Khumbu Himal range can be seen. After completion of customs and immigration formalities further two and half hours drive to Nyalam. Overnight Guest House.
Day 04: Nyalam/Lhatse (4350 m).
We continue drive via Lalung La (5050 m). Splendid views of Mt Langtang (7245 m), Mt Xixapangma (8013 m), Mt Dorje Lakpa (6980 m) can be seen from here. Overnight Guest House.
Day 05: Lhatse/Shigatse (3900 m).
Continue drive to Shigatse, site of the famous Tashilungpu Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989. Its huge Thanka wall is clearly visible from the North side of the road. Overnight Hotel.
Day 06: Shigatse/Gyantse (3950 m).
After visiting Tashilungpu Monastery in the morning, drive to Gyantse two hours away. Gyantse is a small bustling town steeped in history. It lies 264 kms. southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang Chu river. In the 15th century it served as the capital of a small kingdom. Visit Kumbum Chorten, Palkor Chode Monastery, Gyantse Dzong. Built around 1400 AD, later it became the main centre for trade with British India. Overnight Hotel.
Day 07: Gyantse/Lhasa (3650 m).
Eight hours drive bring us to Lhasa crossing Karo-La (5010 m) and Kamba-La (4794 m) on the way. Karo-La climbs between two awesome mountains, Nozing Khang Sa (7223 m) and Ralung (6236 m). We pass the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake) en route. After passing Kamba-La, Lhasa valley can be seen to the North. We cross the Brahmaputra River before reaching Lhasa. Overnight Hotel.
Days 08 - 09: In Lhasa.
Guided sightseeing tour of Lhasa including Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, surrounding Barkhor market, Drepung and Sera monasteries. Overnight Hotel
Day 10: Lhasa/Kathmandu. Transfer to airport for departure flight to Kathmandu or onward destination.
